man with a grin drives down a wooden road in black and white

A music video entered in the 2011 Guitar Center contest, shot entirely in a day in the Indiana Sand Dunes, roughly based on the story by Robert Johnson and the Crossroads.

This video was a last-minute throw together after receiving a phone call from my friend Mark Viafranco, who also plays Jesus in the feature Heaven is Hell that I just wrapped shooting in mid-2012. He wanted to enter a song into the Guitar Center Singer/songwriter contest and wanted a story-based video to back it up. He told me the rough idea of the song is based on the Robert Johnson story “Crossroads” about selling his soul to the devil.

With this rough idea I came up with a story outline in which Mark would play both parts of the good character, as well as the devil, fellow actress Alee Spadoni, would play the victim/wife, and the whole thing would be shot in Sebastien Audinelle’s mustang….all in a day (because that’s all the time we had to make the submission date with the post). Following the storyboards and a strong work ethic between the 4 of us we banged out the whole video including the 3+ hour drive there and back and accomplished the goal of a day’s shoot.

Post was the following week where the video kept with the original suggestion from Sebastien to make it a 2.35 letterbox image, I then made converted it to black and white with 90% sharpness for a vintage look
