2.21-27.09

Open house at the Billboard Factory at Ravenswood for my former day job. I ran things as crew leader and then tech for the actual event.
We set up alot of examples in lights, video, design, sound, etc the we offer to clients as a showcase.

Afterwards was a party, and although I was working the video and could not drink- it was entertaining.

CHS Mattress Mini Reunion

5.27.09

LOCATION: Chicago
CREW: Erin Downs, Page Deulin, Jason Kraynek

I got out of high school in 1995 and pursued a life in theater and acting, along that road I lost track of alot of friends from High School Drama (my second family really). Then I moved to Chicago in 2005 and REALLY lost touch with everyone until the invent of Facebook and finding tons of old friends that way. Through this I found out that 2 of my friends from school that did the play Once Upon a Mattress with me were BOTH in Chicago and come 2009 we finally got a chance to meet up and get back in touch.

It was amazing as I rarely if ever go out with anyone in this city, and could count my close friends on a solo hand- that all being said the instant we all met up it was like a tv show in the fact that we all still click so well that I am really finding it hard to figure out why I get along so well with people like Erin and Page and its so hard to find that in anyone else I meet. Whatever it is- I am thankful now that I have them back in my life and I plan to make reasons to hang out with them more often as it was wonderful.

Since we are the very few that moved from Florida, much less to the same city, we paid tribute to all of our 1995 alumi that wasn’t at the bar with us by taking photos of how best we remembered them- it was a fleeting idea I had in the spur of the moment that resulted in a hour of laughing and photo snapping. Right now we are making all of our class try to guess who each photo is of on the Facebook page.

i dont go out to parties really, much less at all if ever- my social issues and the fact that people easily piss me off in general public i think is mainly the cause for this. The few times I do though its normally for a friend or a reason, this one was both as it was Jelena’s last day at my old job and something that I am very happy that she finally did as no matter what she finds from here on out- she will be much happier in life because of it.

Cranberries reunion tour- Riviera Theatre

I cant really go into words what this band means to me, only that its not just some band that i like- rather it was and still is a major piece of my life. I’ve been through alot and they have remained always a part of it. I remember the first album “Everyone else is doing it so why can’t we” being played over and over by every single one of my friends in high school and always on a table close to the cd player at any place I visited during my teen years. Thinking back on it- they are one of the ONLY bands that i feel i grew up with and have remained loyal to and have continued to push on through the years (solo or whatnot) with key material.

As for the show last night- sound wasn’t the greatest in the sense of it was really good but the levels were all off (this is my production side sorry) but they did play alot of songs that made it all worth it including the bonus song that i was hoping for- Promises. (maybe next time they play Coffee and i go home REALLY happy)

the shat i am

My first trip back to Tampa since my move in 2005, mainly for a photoshoot with old friend Tara Griffith for her new salon. A trip that sparked a relationship and my new life during 2008.

I’ve redone this set adding all of the unreleased photos today as my birthday present to Tara for all the happiness she brings me even though so far away and in another life- she still means alot to me.

I spent a good chunk of my 20s going to clubs and dancing nightly, Tampa was mainly the place that I did these things. It was a interesting part of my life and developed alot of who I am these days still.

elegantly wasted

Last night was one of my first nights “out” in awhile for reasons of not really wanting to go out with anyone/anywhere due to….well just not wanting to. Though my friend Niki (Sammie on GodsGirls) asked me to come down as it was a official GG night. It turned out to be one of the most fun things I’ve done in awhile and meeting abunch of people that I actually get along with and have things in common. Most important aside from the models was meeting Mike (SmashBase) who is a local photographer that the two of us talked for awhile and hopefully will be able to work together in the future as my list of Chicago photographers that I know personally is quite small still.

There was a improv photoset shot between Lily, Ireland, and myself with my small camera (as i didnt bring the big one). A pro shot done by Mike for submission to the site, a few mini videos that i shot that i will post sometime soon, and a whole bunch of “where’s my shirt and my left shoe?”

Aside from all the naked girls running around, wet t-shirts, douchebags from the bar, and insane drinking- it was quite a relaxed night. I did some marketing and passed out all of my cards to music reps, models, photogs, and people alike. Score one for me making a dent in my 1000 cards I ordered a few months ago. All and all, it was the meeting of new friends that was for sure not the last time we will all be together and creating artsy stuff.

NOTE: THIS SET HAS SOME RESTRICTED CONTENT ONLY VIEWABLE ON FLICKR DIRECTLY AND NOT IN THIS SLIDESHOW
